Torquey, lively and frugal, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine is a little marvel, a fact recognised for the second year running by the judging panel for the Engine of the Year Awards, which has given the 1.0 litre EcoBoost the highest ever marks in the award’s fifteen year history. Ferrari has managed to drag out the debut of the Ferrari FF despite its official reveal not being until Geneva next week. Not that we’d have expected anything less from a car which is – at least on the face of it – Ferrari’s range-topper; the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti. And to be fair to Ferrari not all the ‘Milking’ of the debut of the FF has been down to them.
The 2011 / 2012 Ford Focus - starts out as a saloon or hatchback
The new Ford Focus – possibly the most important car in Ford’s history – debuts today at the Detroit Motor Show. Which is in itself an indication that the 2011 / 2012 Ford Focus will be the beacon for Ford’s ‘One Ford’ policy of producing basically the same cars for markets throughout the world. Scheduled to start production at the end of 2010 – and start hitting customer’s driveways in early 2011 – the new Ford Focus is just one of ten variations on the Global C Platform which Ford will launch in the next few years.
